How the Kingdom of God is a Hundredfold phenomenon

Why is the concept of “Hundredfold” something that is important and worth understanding?

One reason is that it is the way the Kingdom of God operates. And when we begin to truly grasp and live out the economy of the Kingdom of God in our present age, I believe we bring people to know God, and also have a greater understanding and dependence.

The world is a place that thrives on scarcity. Yet in the world around us we can see examples of the plenty that is God’s Kingdom.

Here’s what Jesus says in Luke 13:18-19:

“Then Jesus said, “What is the Kingdom of God like? How can I illustrate it? It is like a tiny mustard seed planted in a garden; it grows and becomes a tree, and the birds come and find shelter among its branches.”

To me, this is an illustration of the overflowing magnitude and generosity in the Kingdom of God. And it must have some importance for us to understand now and change how we think and behave because Jesus used it as a succinct illusration of the Kingdom.
